Building the career network AI safety needs

Who we are

Look at who's in the room when AI safety decisions get made, and the picture is narrow. W4AIS started because too many capable women were working in isolation — present in the field, but missing from each other's rooms.

We're building the network that closes that gap: a place to find roles, get visibility, and meet the people who open doors — whether you're already established in alignment, governance or policy, or still finding your way in.

The field is young enough that who shows up now shapes what it becomes. We intend to be in that room.

Core beliefs

A diversity problem is a safety problem

A system built by a narrow group, for a narrow group, can change what it protects. Who builds AI shapes what it safeguards.

Today's progress isn't guaranteed tomorrow

The benefits we have now can be undone. Staying included in the process is how we keep them.

The field is still being shaped

Now is the moment to get in and move up — not after the field has already set its course.

Team

Different backgrounds. One goal: AI that works for the whole world.

"AI safety needs diverse perspectives. If AI systems are going to work for society as a whole, the people making them safe need to represent it too."
